Spinal injury rehabilitation

Rehabilitation after spinal cord or spinal injury is long-term work. Our role is to assess where you are now, plan the next stage with you, and keep the plan coordinated with the rest of your care.

Areas we assess

  • Movement, strength, balance and transfers
  • Pain, including neuropathic pain, and spasticity
  • Bladder, bowel and skin care concerns
  • Assistive equipment, seating and home adaptations
  • Work capacity, studying and daily activities
  • Mood, sleep and the psychological load of injury

How rehabilitation planning works

We start from your own goals — what you want to be able to do — and work backwards to the steps that make them realistic. The plan names who does what, when it is reviewed, and how to reach us between appointments.

Rehabilitation outcomes vary between people and depend on the injury, time since injury and many other factors. We describe expected ranges honestly and avoid promises.

Working with your other services

With your permission we coordinate with the professionals already involved in your care, so that plans support each other. We ask for records only when they are needed, and never through this website.

Accessibility of appointments

Accessible premises, parking, assistance on arrival and appointment length can all be arranged, but the details depend on the clinic location — which is not yet published. Tell us what you need when you contact us and we will confirm what is possible before agreeing a time.
